香川県は１９日、同県立中央病院（高松市）で０８年９月中旬、体外受精をした不妊治療中の２０代女性に対し、誤って別の患者の受精卵を移植した疑いがあり、同１１月中旬に人工妊娠中絶を行ったと発表した。病院は女性に謝罪した。
これは途中で取り違えに気づいたということなんでしょうか？

報道を読む限り、非常に優秀な方のように思いますが、優秀かどうかと、ミスを起こすかどうかは関係ないのですね。
責任を問われるとすれば、医師個人ではなく、病院という組織だと私は思います。

記事の内容を読んで、私も、むしろ正直さに感動しました。 マスメディアも、この医師の真摯さをもっと称えてほしい。もちろん、ミスはミスで、被害者夫婦はお気の毒ですが、私だったら、この医師に引き続き不妊治療を受けたいと決意するだろうと思います。そして、不妊治療の成功率の低さから考えて、この医師でだめだったら、もう諦めよう、と納得するかもしれません。（この医師は非常に謙虚に誠実なinformed consent を実施しているような気がします。）
改めて、生殖という、人知の及ばない領域の医療をしておられる産婦人科医師に敬意を表明したいと思います。そうして、産婦人科の良心的な医師をつぶさないような医療に早く立て直してほしいと願っています。
